Hi, my name is Mallory Pett and I’m your school counselor at PES. In 2013, I received my Master’s degree in Counseling and Career Development from Colorado State University. I then worked as a middle school counselor for the first 2 years of my career, which prepared me to handle a variety of situations that students experience. I truly enjoy working with elementary age students and switched to elementary counseling 10 years ago. For the last 10 years I’ve worked at rural elementary schools in Eaton and Milliken, Colorado. I’m proud to start my 13th year in school counseling at Ponderosa Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year.

I promote student success through a school counseling program that targets academic, social/emotional, and career development. As part of this program I’ll teach preventative counseling lessons to help students learn skills for social/emotional, career, and academic success. For the unique needs of students, I’ll provide both small groups and individual counseling services. I’ll also meet with students to help them with daily challenges at school, such as friendship conflicts and school stress. In addition, I can also provide resources for community services or therapy outside of school. You can read more about the role of elementary counselors at this link. If you have any questions about the counseling program or would like any additional support for your child, you can call me at 970-679-9523 or email me at mallory.pett@tsd.org.
